Here's a breakdown of what you can expect from our Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program at Ma'Lynn School of Careers.
Training Hours
Programs generally require 120 to 150 total hours, split between classroom instruction (approx. 80 hours) and clinical practice (approx. 40 hours). Monday- Thursday 4PM-8:30PM with clinical Saturday and Sunday hours varies.
Timeframe
Our program is completed in 6 weeks.
Curriculum
Topics covered include vital signs, infection control, patient hygiene, emergency procedures, and residents' rights.
General Requirements
To enroll in the CNA program at Ma'Lynn School of Careers, you'll need to meet specific requirements. We ensure all our students are well-prepared for the challenges and responsibilities of a CNA role.
Age & Education
Must be at least 16 years old (though some programs require 17 or 18). A high school diploma or GED is often required, though some programs only require completion of 8th grade.
Background & Health
Most states require a criminal background check, fingerprinting, and a drug screen prior to clinical rotations. You must be up-to-date on immunizations, have a negative TB test, and be physically able to lift at least 40 pounds.
