Training Hours

Programs typically require a total of 120 to 150 hours, comprising approximately 80 hours of classroom instruction and around 40 hours of clinical practice. Classes are held from Monday to Thursday, 10:00 AM to 2:30 PM and 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Clinical hours vary on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Curriculum

General Requirements

Age & Education

Must be at least 16 years old (though some programs require 17 or 18). A high school diploma or GED is often required, though some programs only require completion of 8th grade.

Background & Health

Most states require a criminal background check, fingerprinting, and a drug screen prior to clinical rotations. You must be up-to-date on immunizations, have a negative TB test, and be physically able to lift at least 40 pounds.
